2008 is proving to be an exciting year with lots of activities on the horizon.
I am the new artist representative and liaison to the Board of Directors at the LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts.  I am pleased to assume the responsibilities and I look forward to working even more closely with LeMoyne.

My work may now be found at the Bender Gallery in Asheville, N.C.  It is a beautiful space and I am glad to be represented there.

After a busy Spring, summer is turning out to be even busier! I am a participant in the "Pillars Project."  Work was created by a variety of artists for this event and is displayed in businesses around Tallahassee.  In September at the "Art and Soul" celebration at the University Club, the work will be auctioned off to help raise funds for LeMoyne. "Go Green" an exhibit dedicated to re-purposing
recycling, and re-thinking of ways can help preserve our planet, is currently on display at Florida State University Museum of Fine Art.

Next Friday, June 20th, I will participate, along with other women, in an exhibition of  "Women Artists" sponsored by the Florida Committee for the National Museum of Women in the Arts and the Council on Culture and the Arts.  The exhibit will be at the Artport Gallery in Tallahassee.   I just found out that my work was selected for ANJE III (All-media National Juried Exhibition).  That opening will be on July 4 at the 621 Gallery.

August will be a big month! I will participate in the "Soul Mates" Invitational at the LeMoyne Center for the Visual Arts and then, I will be one of  four artists in their Featured Artists Series at Kittrell/Riffkind Art Glass" in Dallas, Texas. Whew!  What a summer!  I hope you will be able to see at least one of the exhibitions.

2007 was an eventful and exciting year!

I was one of 48 artists to receive a grant to attend an artists' retreat at Seaside, FL in February.  It was sponsored by the Division of Cultural Affairs, The National Endowment for the Arts and presented by Creative Capital, a non-profit organization (assisting artists)  from New York City.  They gave us quite a work out!  I finally made it to the beach on the last day!

In May, "A Glass Act" opened at the Florida Capitol. I was so happy! Nearly three years before,  I had submitted a proposal to the Division of Cultural Affairs for curating a glass exhibition which would feature 16 regional artists.  It was a beautiful show.  This is the post card which was mailed throughout the State of Florida.  I am very proud to say that the Division chose to use a detail from one of my husband's pieces.  His name is Chuck Corbett and the piece was entitled "Aqualuna."  The names of all the participating artists are listed.

In July, my husband and I celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary by renewing our  vows.  It was a wonderful day.  We had 75 invited guests and enjoyed one of the best days ever!  Here we are during the processional.  Bach Aire for G String was played by Tantalus, A Classical Guitar Quartet.  A reception followed the ceremony.
